En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 37+38

This is what it is all about: The map reminds me of the ultimate challenge. I am not satisfied with having done it for the first time ever this season. Now I want to seed myself for a better startposition and my target is to finish at about 6 hours. As for training today I […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018,day 35+36

No rolling yesterday as I was babysitting. I got a nice 9 km easy workout in the morning storm winds. Put a smile on my face.

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 33+34

Yesterday was another long day at work and I was too tired to go out when I finally got home. So I spent some quality time with the kids instead. Today I first went with Irís to kindergarten. She was cycling all the way there on her new bike. Super proud little girl when we […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 32

After work I took a ride out in the sunshine. At second best roller skiing average speed of 14.18 km/h I am very satisfied. The interval splits at the midsection were good! On top of yesterdays lengthy ride the body was responding very well to a more fast paced interval training today. Now to combine the […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 30+31

Yesterday was a tug it in and sleep day. The kids were tired too and we were visiting my parents. Besides it was really raining outside and very cold. Much better today. We drove off to Asnæs for the family to pick Allium ursinum for making pesto (yummy) while I prepared for a little longer roller […]

En Route to Vasaloppet, day 28+29

Yesterday it was raining the whole day and I just took it easy inside while visiting our friends in Klejtrup, Jylland. Today it had cleared enough to go out and I found a good round for a workout mostly flat but with a couple of steep climbs. Again the RollerSafe brakes came in good when […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, Day 27

Today is a good day. After breakfast I went out for a run on the RollerSafe. This time faster than even my best overall skate skiing PB. I finished at an average speed of 16 km/h. Great!  Now I am on the ferry to Aarhus and on to Viborg to visit good friends for Easter. […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 25+26

Yesterday was another transition day training wise as I was spending time with good friends in the afternoon and evening after work. Today I went for the usual 8 km workout at the pace of around 13.5 km/h, which seems to be the new standard for me these days. I am so really happy with […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 23+24

Yesterday I was tired and stayed in. Needed to sleep after a long day at work. Since my wrists have been aching a bit over the past couple of weeks, and I only got the new suspended poles Saturday, I took a pair of old wrist guards from rollerskating and removed the metalbits. I tied […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 22

Doing better with the knee today. I was out for an easy run again on the RollerSafe. This time I wanted to test some pretty scary descents in the forest area up north of here. The brakes worked flawlessly. Much better actually than my courage. I took it sloooowly! The brakes actually allowed for going […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 21

So let’s take a look at that knee. It hurts a bit but it isn’t swollen and it looks quite clean. Yesterday I got a reminder from my cycling days that training for elite sports can be detrimental to your health if you are sloppy with safety. Luckily I got out of this one in […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, Day 20

Today I planned to go from Rungsted to home about 15 km but plans can quickly get disrupted. Thanks to a pair of sheet metal plates lying across the whole bike lane on a descent about 4 km along the route… The RollerSafe brakes saved me from more trouble than I had bargained for though, […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 19

Another PB for classic roller skiing today. This time doing 7.5 km in 32 min. Average speed 14.16 km/h. Looking good. Blood sugar levels after workout was 6.4.

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 18

Quite windy today but nothing to stay home for. So out again and once again confirmation that the brakes are indeed working great! So now I am beginning to feel quite comfortable braking even at speed going downhill. Super! Not the fastest run today but threw in some good double poling intervals. Great feeling!

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, Day 17

Good News! I am going to be allowed to continue my consultations with the diethist in order to optimize training, eating and continue measuring my gains in the Body Composition Analyzing (BCA) programme. Very good for me since a lot of psychological driving force and desire comes from seeing steady progression, not only in the […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 16

Today I went out on my normal training route. Was really tired after work but worked it out since I couldn’t sleep. Did some double poling intervals at the middle of the course and had a good feeling in legs and arms. When I came to the downhill part the brakes proved to work much […]

En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 13,14,15

Finally got the new rollerskis and went for a ride Friday. What a joy! Went the usual 8 km loop here at home and the skis were spinning really good. Then for the weekend we have been at my parents and since it was such a nice weather we went to the beach yesterday. I […]
