En Route to Vasaloppet 2018, day 22
Doing better with the knee today.
I was out for an easy run again on the RollerSafe. This time I wanted to test some pretty scary descents in the forest area up north of here. The brakes worked flawlessly. Much better actually than my courage. I took it sloooowly! The brakes actually allowed for going with a constant brake force down the steepest descents and also for speed braking at the longer slightly less steep ones.
Next target is to build enough courage to actually speed brake from higher speeds at like 5-10% descents. Not sure if I will ever build the nerves to do that but it is a good start to be capable of roller skiing in all terrain, however slowly.
Anyways 21 km done in the modest time of 2 hours. Still pretty ok considered the terrain and ‘chicken me’ chilling out at 5-10 km/h at some descents.
